At the time of this writing, I am an eligible bachelor, middle-aged college student, and all-around adventure seeker. I live in the wonderfully sane state of Arizona but stay out of the sun as much as possible.
I am a systems administrator by trade, nearing the completion of a degree in business management with a speciality in IT/IS. After 3 years, I still have a 3.91 GPA and often wonder why college was so difficult when I was younger.
Oh, don't get me wrong. I'd love to go rock crawling in Utah, river rafting through the Grand Canyon, or parasailing in Hawaii... Put me on a sailboat and give me a fishing pole so I can sail around the world, working my way from port to port, exploring all of the places that have fascinated me throughout my life. I love a good Nascar race (any car race, really), enjoy traveling, and want to explore history in America. There are a million things I'd like to do, I'd just rather have someone at my side that wants to share the experiences with me, but I guess I haven't found her yet...
Whoever she is, let her judge me by this:
I'm the guy that thinks a woman is beautiful, not "hot." I'd walk next to her with pride whether she was in a dinner dress or sweats and a t-shirt, and always point her out to my friends with pride. "That's her. That's my girl."
My chest would swell with pride when she stopped before a closed door, waiting for me to open it, never even considering opening it herself. Chivalry lets everyone know I respect her and she respects me. My father and grandfather taught me well.
The greatest joy in my life, beyond sharing common goals and interests, would be going to sleep with her cradled in my arms so I could feel her chest rise and fall. With any luck, I could wake up just in time to see her open her eyes every day. If a smile came to her lips, I'd know how loved she feels without having to hear the words.
Something I've learned in life is that relationships are partnerships, and partners have to do ther fair share.
Anyways, there's a ton more I could write on the girl of my dreams, but I'd rather share those details with her, whoever she is. I know she's out there, somewhere, just waiting to be loved.
Well, I'm not that young anymore, but I know a lot more than that kid did...
I enjoy writing, photography and Photoshop, ethical dilemmas, science fiction, and plot twists I can't figure out in the first five minutes of a movie. Reading is cool too, and just made the transition to the Kindle, but it's sitting there staring at me. I stare at a computer screen long enough as it is.
Politics is a hobby, and I tend to lean a bit further to the right. I'm a fan of quotes, especially Founding Father quotes.
I dislike a few things in life. Among them is poor management. Don't get me wrong; I know there's a jerk everywhere I'll ever go and that my responsibility is to not become "that" jerk. I am an evangelist for my company, and part of the solution rather than part of the politics. I don't complain, undermine their authority, or try to assassinate their character in the breakroom. I just don't like it because it isn't fun. Thus, "managing up" has become second nature to me, which is an awesome quality to have. :-)
This is me, 23 years later, a few pounds heavier, but soooo much wiser.
