The time has come to renew the Spirit of America.
The United States should immediately denote the week between 9/11 and
Constitution Day as
Patriot Week. This is important for many reasons.
Public understanding of our founding principles is at an
all-time low at one of the most crucial points in our history, and Patriot Week
could be an invaluable opportunity to focus the public on our what our founding
father's believed to be important.
We must know where we are:
In the last sixty years, two competing ideologies have emerged
that are in direct opposition to one another, and few would argue that America
is not heading towards a time of political turmoil that will rival any our great
nation has ever faced.
One ideology would have us abandon our founding principles and
use the force of government as a great social and cultural equalizer, while the
other would blindly globalize the American Dream without regard for the
consequences.
Both are happy to saddle our Posterity with a mountain of
debt, unfunded liabilities, and a counter-culture border policy that will,
without a doubt, destroy our national security and lead to the end of our
Representative Republic.
Note that voters have made two majority changes in the past
sixteen years, but our political problems have only been compounded.
Elections bring change to the mind and body of politics, but entrenched
bureaucracies quickly consume the soul. A better understanding of Liberty
and Independence would go a long ways towards resolving that dilemma. Make
no mistake, there must be a solution soon, one way or the other.
As Lincoln once said, a house divided against itself cannot
stand. We will either become all of one ideology, or all of another; a
welfare state with no national identity or a free trading service sector with no
borders. There is a better way.
To know what must be done and how to do it:
If the American People understood even the essence of the
source of their Liberty and Freedom, they would know there is a different,
better, God-given choice that lies somewhere between the two. Perhaps they
would be compelled to band together to pledge their lives, their fortunes, and
their sacred Honor to preserve the American way of life.
Patriot Week would give the Publick the necessary tools to
make an informed decision, one we must all make together. In the immortal
words of Franklin, we must all hang together; for we will all assuredly hang
separately.
